Architecture in Play

Hah! not only B is the one aging! even LEGO is! Lego is older than B! well 20 years more! I loved Lego when I was a kid thanks to the guys who made them, it has enhanced and made my childhood more creative and fun. When I was a kid, I created houses, two storey buildings, bridges, malls, train stations, airports name it I tried to build it. But the weird thing about me is, I often enjoy more destroying and creating a disaster scene with it, rather than the building. It somehow gives me satisfaction destroying what I built..weird no? Scenes which sometimes disturbing I pretend that the lego people's hands or legs chop off. Legos price isn't that cheap so I just had four sets of 'em (the small ones).

Right now Lego has taken off into a different level but the same time maintaining the fun & creativity factor that they have and will give to kids. This new line of them has fascinated me. They have collaborated with architectural artist Adam Reed Tucker of Brickstructures and came out with a line called Lego Architecture. It's really quite impressive if you ask me. It's a replica of a historical/ iconic landmarks & structures translated into Lego. Now you can own a piece of the exhibit too!
Any fan of Lego would go gaga over this. If I have the budget, maybe I will too (though I know this will be pricey)! I kinda miss playing with Lego. Maybe playing again will help me to exercise my creativity haha. If Iam a kid and my parents will buy me this, I will be the coolest kid in town and perhaps create a desicion for me to be an architect (I dreamt to be one few years back..surprised? ha ha). Oh well, I took a different path after all... :)

oh I got this heads up from Design Scene. Thanks :)

Doll with a Cause

I just read B's blog and a chill went up to my spine... I was like, WOW... i never knew she is this big and famous (like DUH it's Barbie..) to be a part of Bulgari's 125'th anniversary advocacy for children. Some of the supporters are: Julianne Moore, Ben Stiller, Sally Field, Sting, Isabella Rossellini, Willem Dafoe and even Hugh Jackman. It's like a "ring for a cause campaign" made by Bulgari. It aims to provide education for unfortunate children.
Mattel, made a really good and reputable move for her. This made me love the doll more. I can't imagine a simple, lifeless, plastic like her would make her alive by things like this. Like what B said in her blog: "Any doll can change the world" (I love it! haha ^_^ )

Life's Surprises

Life's surprises really is unpredictable, some are good, some are bad, sometimes it makes us, sometimes it breaks us. But whatever it may be, it makes us stronger, it lights the fire brighter.

Just a while ago, I heard a news from a close friend that really made me sad, the same time made me stronger as a person inside. I thought what happened only happens in movies or telenovelas, but this time it isn't. A friend of mine caught this chronic disease which is a kind of disease that'll wear a person slowly. I wont elaborate on it any further as to disclose info.

The instance my friend told me what was happening to her, was instantly dissed with her positive way of thinking. She told me that if that's what God wants her to have, then she'll faccept it. She even told me that God wouldn't give her anything that she couldn't handle and thought that she was lucky enough not to catch any kind of disease more heavier than that. She even told me that things happens for a reason. . . I was listening to everything she's saying. I felt crying that instant. I was so amazed on how she kept saying those things to her. I said to myself that "This is a strong girl... I really want to be like her...I admire her how strong she lifts herself up.." As you grow up you encounter things like these and make you realize how bizarre and strange life is. It tells you to live life to the fullest.

I got home and suddenly I saw this Japanese drama going to be aired in local TV entitled "One Litre of Tears" I saw half of this (I haven't finished this yet) it really is inspiring. For those of you who still dont know this drama I got a synopsis from the net for you:

One Litre of Tears is about a girl named Aya Kito who suffered from an incurable disease called Spinocerebellar Ataxia and the original story was based on her diary that she kept on writing until she could no longer hold a pen. The book that later followed titled “One Liter of Tears” has sold over 1.1 million copies.
I immediately thought of my friend. . . :)

Is Gironda my Final Answer????

There have been lots of things going on my mind lately affecting things I do everyday (maybe hence the falling of tumbler)..

Really, this is not a good sign...I'm a little sensitive when it comes to minute details especially when it involves changes. What I need is a boost to be positive! What has a man to do to release stress? GO TO GYM! haha. Honestly, going to gym releases endorphins to our body that is responsible for us being happy. Oh, not only gym releases endorphins, hugging and eating chocolates also produces them. speaking of gym, a friend of mine recommended this new workout based on the workout by the famous Vince Gironda (1957) *yikes!* (He found it from an old Maximum Fitness mag) The program is doing more on the unusual yet tested postures on every body part workout. The workout stances are different from the normal ones that you usually do. The heck I'll try anything just to keep my mind preoccupied..STARTING, TOMORROW! HAH! Goodluck to me! :) (hope this'll be a step away from the depression stage.. oh well..)

Shou ga nai darou

Just this morning before I woke up, I turned on the TV and saw that it was the portion for horoscopes, I then waited for mine to come up. I'm a Sagittarian. My horsocope for the day said about focusing on the important things and not on the not-so. Well that made me more awake. I said to myself oh-kaay...So, is that for the recent things that happened to me this week?? "Well must be connected to that" I thought. I then proceed to going to the office and then checked mails. I opened the mail that contains Daily Japanese Phrase of the Day from about.com. And guess what the phrase of the day is:

Shou ga nai darou.

Oh that means:

"Don't make such a big deal out of it. "

WTF!! I just smiled and laughed inside. That's it..oh well so much for horoscopes.. (^_^);

Name Complications

When will the hurting stop???....Why am I complaining you may ask??

Good day!!! yes! a good day it is! I just won't stop smiling! I've been listening to Kumi Koda's song: "Anytime" it really uplifts my mornings everytime I play and watch the song. It's Japanese but the message of the song is about feelings to someone that wont stop and doesn't want to stop. The song really is super cute!

Anyhoo, I just received print outs of my housing loan contribution and to my surprise, I saw this error in my name...it says "Mark Ace...." I went like, WTF???? When did my name have "ACE"??? [pretty cool though] I have the most common and simplest name in the world and people still commit mistakes! You give them a complicated name and they fuck the spelling up or sometimes don't include your second name...You give them a SIMPLE name and STILL have mistakes! AARGH! When will the hurting stop???....Why am I complaining you may ask?? well If that "Ace" is still there for a long time, in the long run, I'll be having complications in filing for a loan or I'll be having issues on identity!! ARGH! (Don't worry that's not enough to ruin my day) I'll just do my work and enjoy the sugarfree Donuts and the green tea I have in my table...\(^_^)/
